Sometimes you get a call & have to jump on it no matter how much you have going on or what a short time frame you have to create it…. in this case it was a call from my dear friend Anika over at CNN who was writing an article on Nerdmance (nerd romance) for the CNN Geek Out Blog! As I am personally an authority on Nerdmances, I of course was being interviewed. Anyone who knows me can attest to how much of a dork I am…. no really, we are talking used to attend/host LAN parties, walked into our wedding reception to Star Wars Disco, camped out on the lawn of a theater for 10 days to watch Star Wars & was on the news (interviewed by Al Naipo from Fox 11). Luckily for me, the universes collided & I somehow found my perfect nerd match in Mark who also loves all things techy/nerdy/geeky.
Putting together an Indiana Jones shoot wasn’t very hard when I started plotting out each shot I wanted in my head…. but the logistics of actually getting it done when I had 3 days & shoots every day leading up to it was a bit overwhelming. So I did the natural thing… I called in Megan Herzing to help me make my ideas into a reality. From the clothing, to the props, to the hair & make-up she translated everything in my brain into reality.

And a HUGE thank you to David & Erin for hanging out with me all day, trekking through Disneyland, the HB Wilderness & holding that python, even when she was in a “bad” mood!
This was one of the most fun & yet scariest shoots I’ve ever done! I’m just glad that I didn’t have to hold the python!!
Extra Special Thanks to: Megan Herzing for the amazing hair, make-up & styling, Erin & David for being fabulous & adventurous models, the Hartle family for letting us use their python… even though she was in a bad mood, the Disneyland employees who let us go in behind the ropes to get some of our shots!
